Load shedding will be ended in a year: DPM Rayamajhi

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, has asserted that the problems of load shedding will end within a year.

Speaking at a gathering of cadres of his party UCPN (Maoist) at Kushma Bazaar in Parbat this morning, Rayamajhi claimed that load shedding will end as construction of hydro power projects will conclude within a year and will produce enough electricity.

Stating that the government has been providing fuel and raw materials to all projects during the blockade, he said that the hydel projects reached its final phase of construction.

He further said that the government has already forwarded action plan in order to generate 10,000 MW electricity within 10 years.

DPM Rayamajhi confessed it was government's compulsion to increase load shedding, saying more than 500 transformers have exploded in the period after the border blockade due to excessive consumption of electricity.

Meanwhile, DPM Rayamajhi also inspected the under construction Lower Madhikhola Hydropower Project this morning. On the occasion, he directed the concerned bodies to accelerate the construction task. RSS
